SAMSON COMPLETES SOUTH LOUISIANA ACQUISITION
Tulsa, Oklahoma (March 5, 2002) – Samson Investment Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma today announced the purchase of a 50% operated working interest in the Valentine Field, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The interest was acquired from PetroQuest Energy, L.L.C.
Samson had previously acquired a 50% non-operated interest in the Valentine Field in October 1999. With this acquisition, Samson will now operate and own 100% in various prospects and existing wells in the field. Samson has identified and plans to drill several wells on this large leasehold position, which is covered by an 86 square mile 3D seismic survey. This is part of Samson’s growing program in South Louisiana.
